Looks kinda sweet don't it ;)

I made up a couple shafts out of 1/8" dowel. man did that bow spit them out. I was shooting for distance in the basement when one hit a rafter and the shaft detonated, lol! I need to find something a little stronger for this bow. Then I'll need to make a tiny little quiver to go with it.

This is how the bow sits right now. I need to get to the hobby store again and find some baby blue silk, and gold trim for the grip. Maybe I can pick up some bamboo BBQ skewers for shafts as well.

I hope you enjoyed it so far!

Carbon Caster, ears, aka Clair Ross, is originally from Nova Scotia. He had recently moved to Alberta. But, I sent him these pictures to show him what I was up to and he said he had been kinda busy. He just moved to British Columbia.

Well, the bow and accoutrements are finished and the time is getting close. Doc says Ryan can come at any time, so now he's ready to take on the world...in style ;)

A little detail on the quiver, it was made to last :)

Image

the arrows are 11" barbeque skewers fletched with wild turkey feathers and tipped with 1/2" suction cups. I used the plastic end of some wire connectors for nocks, the horn I tried wouldn't hold up and the shafts are way too thin for self nocks. They fly extremely well out of this bow and hit with some serious force. Let all the cats beware :)

And of course, the full draw picture!

The only thing yet to do is the date. That will be printed on the quiver in the center of the light colored leather at top...when I know what it is;) I'm still thinkin of makin a tiny arm guard...too much??? naaaaa, I'll get to work on that next, LOL!

I just finished the bracer, it came out pretty good. It isn't exactly a victorian era design...but it'll do. The Celtic design is supposed to ward off harm and evil spirits.
