So if you were setting up a form I would find center of 72’’ beam then measure out 7’’ each side of center for a 14’’ riser section measure down 1’’ on the ends then cut.......stabow
because a shorter limb would be a lot stiffer--so they build the tiller in by making it thinner---in effect its a result of moving the riser down -the fades end on a thinner section of the lay-up--shorter and thinner in one move--cutty do't hesitate--the blank my buddy got is gorgeous--i've never seen book matched yew like this-and i think he had it in his hand in 3-3-1/2 weeks from ordering not to mention blank was real nice--not a ton of work--nocks are filed[tiller is done]--just cut the shelf[layed-out w/mark] and sand-sand-sand!!!
While I have nothing to add to this I am very interested in the makeup of the "perfect" Hill bow. So I'm resurrecting this one. Any more additions or conclusions?
