Set crawl and tune

Postby marc » Mon Jun 13, 2016 7:02 am

Hey guys, have not felt good enough to shoot much lately but went and shot a 3D yesterday. Shooting the exact same setup that I hunted with last year only I served in a set crawl for a 20 yard point on. The lower nock is about 3/4" below my bottom nock set. I have been shooting .350 VAP full length with 200 grains up front but now they fly like crap. They fly fine when I bump up and just gap shoot it.

Has anyone else noted a huge difference in tune by going to a set crawl?

I've not noticed any problems at 3/4" but when I get to 1" things start acting screwy.

Curious... what's you nock height and tiller?

Nock height is 1/2' above and I would have to check the tiller. This is with one of Ken's Whippensticks so I can't adjust tiller like I can on the titans.

Is this one time where a negative tiller would work best. Bottom limb weaker?

I don't know marc, but last fall while tuning my hunting rig, I ended up at 1/8" negative.
