longbow stack difference for offset handle?

Postby einstin-7 » Fri Apr 01, 2016 11:52 am

Hey all, its been a while since I've made a bow but im now getting back into it and hoping to make a moderate RD longbow with 2-3 bamboo lams and fiberglass back and belly.

My question is, If I want to offset the riser down towards the bottom limb 3/4" for a nice grip and center shelf placement how much thinner should the total lam stack at the fades be ??
I'm guessing the stack at fades without fiberglass for a 50 pounder will be about 3/8".. how much less for the bottom limb? 10-30-40 thousandths ?

Thanks for any insight!
