Bear Take downs...

Postby Stykshooter » Mon Aug 27, 2012 9:53 pm

The more I mess around with this timeless model from ole Fred, the more impressed I am with them.
Here is an "A" riser with 54 pound #3 limbs that I picked up from Marc at Baltimore. It needed a little TLC when I got it so I invested several hours with a soft cloth and some polishing compound. It came out looking Great!

You can tell a lot about a woman's mood just by her hands. If they are holding a gun, she's probably angry.

Here are a couple of photos of my 2011 red stripe takedown with black diamondwood riser. This is a "B" riser and I have a set of 45 and a set of 55 pounds limbs for it, both are #1's.

This is my brand new 2012 Bubinga take down. "B" riser with 50 pound #1 limbs. The fit and finish on this bow is as good as any I have seen on any of the customs I have ordered or handled over the years. Flawless and it has an absolutely gorgeous piece of wood in the riser. I think this is one of the best looking bows that Bear has turned out. The new limbs are fast and quiet and the bow is competely dead in the hand at the shot. In my opinion, it looks to me like Bear is starting to really get their stuff together on these new traditional bows. I understand the next generation of takedown is going to be a Bubinga riser with ebony "horns" on the front of the riser. That ought be a real sharp looking bow!
