I’ve been doing really well lately, but then, it’s about time, huh? I’ve been two years on this bale and bridge work. I’ve been following a guy over on ArcheryTalk in his quest to break 240 on his 300 round. The rascal inspired me. I haven't shot a 3D round or a 300 round for a two years—save Baltimore in 2010, and then, I didn’t even take a bow with me. John Wert loaned me one. :^)
So….. I broke out the card today, put it on the matt and had at it. I shot five arrows on the bale, then backed up and shot one practice round to find my gap. The first few rounds I was very apprehensive. I didn’t blow up, like I did at my first attempt at a 3D target back on July 3, 2011, but a little shakey, just the same. I then, settled down and got along fine. I let down several times when things didn’t feel right, and never lost the first arrow.

I must say I was pleasantly surprised with my results. I'm confident enough now to move along--I think. I hope to attend my first 3D shoot next weekend. I’ll need to shoot a few times this week to determine a sight picture at different distances. We’ll see how that goes. I’m not expecting to score very well, but, I’m sure hoping to be in control.
