I just read all of the rules and regulations about the park and about special permits. Based on what they say... "It shall be unlawful for any person in a park to take part in or abet the playing of any games involving thrown or otherwise propelled objects such as balls, stones, arrows, javelins or model airplanes, except in areas set apart for such forms of recreation."...it sounds like our bow shooting cannot be done in the shelter and it is unlikely to be approved by special permit. I'll have to look for another place. We may just have to have it in my two-car garage. Jim

i was affraid of that Jimmy.... My daughter set up a little archery range in a park one time, and got shut down instantly. the rules looked identical to the ones you just posted.

maybe we can do the testing one day, then reserve the archery range for the second day? maybe we could set up some novelty shoots with prizes or something. i'd really like to see more shooting going on, besides just the testing. it just added a bit of fun to the event to be able to play with all those bows. :D

I sent this message to JWillis and he suggested I post it here.

'If you want to travel to MD for the WTT I can book my entire club at Baltimore Bowmen. We have an outdoor paviliion, clubhouse kitchen, hot showers and over 50 acres of georgeous rolling MD hills. We can set up 30,60,or more 3-ds and everyone can camp or stay in local hotels. '

Ask Arron and other pirates that came to our big trad shoot last year.

I thought it was decided to have it here. I have found a good place at the grounds of the local steam engine association pending approval of their board. There is a large picnic pavilion, restrooms with showers, camping, electricity and water, grounds for shooting the bows. Jim

Sounds great Jim! I plan to attend this one, and submit a contender or two for testing! ;)
