I was just giving basic advice for a first time bow,alot of guys WAY overthink the first few bows.The basic midshaft straight taper is tried and true.I think it is the layout in the old Hunt and Metz boyscout manual from the 30's.
there are 2 dates on your marker.Your life is the dash in between.

my moms bow that i just made went from 1 7/16 at the fades to 3/4 at the string grooves. are these dimensions ok for an R/D bow?
