Glue up question.

Postby Mann » Thu Feb 27, 2014 11:17 am

I am getting ready to start on a laminated riser for a 1 piece recurve.
What is the best process for gluing the riser before putting it all together?
I will be using smooth on, I guess my real question is do I cure the riser in the hot box or just at room temp? Since it will be cooked during the final glue up.
If this is a dumb question..... too damn bad
All I have built were 3 piece takedowns.

I generally glue up my risers at room temp, although i use heat strips not a hotbox anymore. even when i used the hotbox i still glued them up at room temp. just wait 24 hours before you go cutting into it or anything and you should be good to go.
