new bow...first off a new form I made

Postby Chemsolder » Sun Dec 22, 2013 9:00 am

So wife said I should biuild some Christmas presents this year so bows it is two were kids bows of my kid bow form then came the challenge build a form for a little longer bow and make it pertty and come in at 45#'s. Pretty pleased with the outcome nailed the weight too but the limbs are narrow 1.15" at the fades .219" thick maple with .1 black glass, doesn't seem to have any stability issues though. Form was made to accomodate a 56, 58, or 60" bow this is 60 has a wee bit of extra reflex in the tips. Does have a bit more buzz after the shot but I think I can tune it out of the bow, not close to the shock from my regular straight longbow.

Just a little higher than center if you look you can see my nasty butt scarf joint on the front of the riser, that is the center of the riser.
