BIG food plot

Postby Gino Bruno » Sat Oct 02, 2010 4:00 pm

well, the big food plot went in last week. Tim (the farmer who has the crop lease) planted 350 acres surrounding the house of winter wheat. the stubble in the background was just harvested last month and will lay over the winter. the trail cam picked him up several times. he had the whole thing planted and fertilized in about 7 hours. should be pretty good for the late season since it is the only winter wheat for miles. :D

That's a beautiful place Bud !
When you take your kid hunting and he says thank you and tells you how much he loves being in the woods with you, your day just isn't going to get any better than that.

Gino's going to wake up one morning and look out on the back 400 and see a couple of tents and some critters on the meat pole, he'll climb to the sniper tower and hopefully he will see the Jolly Roger flying BEFORE he starts shooting :D

Thats the goofiest little air drill I've ever seen. Its funny the different stuff you see in the other parts of the country. You sit and try and imagine the reason they use what they use. Here, we'd have the same sort of thing, only there'd be 45-60 ft. tool bar behind the cart. High stubble = good snow trap=good moisture & soil recovery. Good deal Gino.
