I blame you guys for this!

Every Pirate has a few few firearms stashed here and there. This is a place to talk about everything from front-stuffers to machine guns and everything in between.

Wow! I just looked up fire cord. I hadn't heard of that before. Pretty cool!

I agree, I did have fun making this for sure. I wasn't sure about the fire cord but thought id order some just to try it out and I was impressed when I took it apart and played a little. The fire strand breaks into 4 smaller strands and catches a spark pretty easy. I had a piece about an inch long and it burned for a good minute before it went out so I don't think you'd need a ton of it to get some tinder going.

Ordered a 5.56 upper, hogue handguard, low pro gas block, 20 rd mag, 100 rds of ammo and a scope with rings all for, ironically, $556.

This upper https://sotaarms.com/index.php/componen ... 2?Itemid=0

And new upper is complete (the bottom one). Sota arms barrel/receiver/bcg/charging handle, yhm low pro gas block, hogue handguard, ebay extended ch latch, utg 3-12x44 compact glass. Hopefully I'll get out and shoot it this weekend, heading a couple hours north to put a hole in a deer I hope.

Thanks! Top one is 6.8 spc. 18" palmetto state armory stainless barrel, psa receiver, stag bcg, generic no name hand guard, leapers 4-16x50? That one is for deer when I go out of the shotgun only zone. Too expensive to shoot in any volume, almost triple the cost of 5.56 ammo.

6.8 or a 6.5 is my next build. Got into 80% 1911 frames and got sidetracked from my last build....

Let me know how much work you have to put into that 80% 1911, Sewey.
