"All secrets lye in grips"

Postby Cutty » Wed Jan 09, 2008 1:09 pm

I think Vittorio Frangilli has been reading this forum and listening to Hank, "All secrets lye in grips" is the title of one of his upcoming articles... :D

Will The Heretic Archer II inlude all lacking parts? I don't know, yet.
I'm for instance pushed by Steve Ruis, Archery Focus editor, to write about grips.
It is one of the most difficult matters to transform in a coeherent explanation, and as I have written long time ago on the Sagi board, "so may secrets lay in the grip", I'm very reluctant to face the task. May be, may be that at the end "The Secrets of the grip" will be found in The Heretic Archer II, but is not sure.
How many secrets we can really tell around?..... ;-))

Unfortunately, Hill didn't give out all his secrets and one of them was (that he gave out later in a converstation, but not in print anywhere).... "it's all in the hands." One of those hands is into the grip.

The grip does 2 really important things, it sets up the bow arm and minimizes torque.

I personally like them really low wrist, so they are basically setting on the end of your arm, like the hand isn't even there. Then just find the right shape and spot so there is little, if any torque and sets in the hand like a rock. When you accomplish that, then that allows you to focus on other things to screw up in the shot process....lol.

Good question... most of the ancients are gone in our family, so I am not sure who would know the details anymore.

Do you think some of your family went there?
