I try not to release at the click but don't know if that is the correct way of using it.

I would get to the click and know I was at the end of the shot sequence.

I was thinking of mounting it on the riser then attaching the string as close to the tip as possible, maybe that could help in not making the string so long. I really don't like mounting stuff on the limb, I'm too concerned with speed loss.

Anyone who mounts them on the limb actually witness any loss in speed with a chronograph?

Kevin, if I were to make any suggestion here it would simply be, don't let the click be the end of the shot. Create or use your current one, but make sure you have a conclusion after the click and be mindful to get to it, and make "it" the end of the shot.
