61 Bear Polar 50#

Postby Jim Casto Jr » Thu Jan 07, 2010 1:59 pm

Looks like I'm in for another re-do. I pulled the trigger on 1961 Bear Polar at 50#. I'm hoping it will be as good as the Grizzly and Kodiak--time will tell, but for $66.00, I couldn't pass it up. This will be the last one (I think  ).

I'm waiting to hear from Kurt again, but I think this one needs an aluminum coin.

That one looks like it has good potential. Show us some photos when you get it fixed up! Jim

I am new to this forum. Hey!

I decided to reply to this post because... I have also purchased a 61 Bear Polar. Thought I'd let you know, the bow I purchased has a copper coin... Not an aluminum one.

I'm new to this so I'll try to post some pictures. I've got to have some work done on mine, but I'm a newbie. What do you recommend?

I'm so excited... I'm posting even before my bow has arrived via shipment.

Thank you,

Michael

Jim,

Not sure where I found this on the internet, but here is an original catalog page of the 61 Bear Polar.

What do you think of the feather rest and strike plate? How hard would it be to reproduce them?

On tradgang(TG) there is a guy TRAP is his username that makes feather rest, I think they are like $4 each, he may also have leather strike plates, someone else on TG I know sells leather reproduction plates. Look in the sponsors classifieds on TG.
