Postby lonegunman88240 » Sat Nov 21, 2009 12:34 am

hi all new guy here, my dad has just sent me a old bow he found, its in rough shape but salvagable, im trying to find the slip on limb tips that was common on these old bears in the 70s, its a 1978 bear target take-down recurve, unknown poundage, any help is appreciated

Are you talking tip protectors ?
When you take your kid hunting and he says thank you and tells you how much he loves being in the woods with you, your day just isn't going to get any better than that.

Is it maybe a Bear 76er target bow with the black limp tips that fall/bust off?

Bear made a target bow very much like the 76er with solid glass limbs that slipped into the riser. The limbs had the solid plastic limb tips that slipped on......Sounds like that's what he's got.

You may want to check with crossbow companies...the el-cheapo ones..many of them use replaceable plastic tips that go on the fiberglass prods..some of them may fit right onto the ends of your limbs...

JJust do a search on .....replacement crossbow tips..
They even sell them at Amazon....
