I did some inital testing of it Saturday & came up with some tenative stats (I say "tenative" because the new string was still stretching a bit):

It pulls right at 41# @ my 27" draw (it draws just shy of 43.5 @ 28" - just over its stated "43# @ 28"). It clocked right at 145fps @ 27" with a 425gn carbon arrow. I actually thought it would be about 10fps less. It's a little rough - used, but not abused - and it's all original down to the yellow feather rests (it even came with the original string).

There's some slight handshock (not unexpected). And I haven't decided after about 75 shots whether a tight "longbow" or loose recurve grip is the best, but now that the string has settled in I should be able to figure it out next time out. All in all, I really like it. Blew a nock shooting it Saturday, though, and got a pretty nasty mid-forearm string slap; yeeowch!

It likes light carbons, 1916's & even 2016's (although they drop about 4 to 6" at 20yds).

Yep. Thought I was really going to get it cheap, but ended up right at $100.00 - stll not bad. I can't really say why, but the Alaskan has a lot more "oommph" than my other Bear semi-recurves.

BTW - The nock I blew was too loose, LOL!

Is it nicknamed "Halloween" because of the orange glass???
The reason I support the 2nd Amendment is because I'm too young to die but too old for an ass whoopin' !

Yeah, Orange & Black. It'll look pretty sweet when I polish it up.
