59'ers

Anybody going to hunt with their 59' Kodiak this year in honor of its 50th year? Just occured to me - I'd like to take mine turkey hunting but it's a 64"er & a little awkward in a blind, even for vertically challanged people like me. But I just might anyway.

I don't have one any more...in fact I don't have any Bear that was made in '59 anymore. :(

It kinda sucks but such is life.

It's a cool idea though. Maybe I can pick one up before fall.

Yeah, I know the feeling - now I'm gonna need a '60 for next year...if the economy stays in the toilet long enough maybe I can pick one up cheap.

Cool! Which do you like better; the Grizz or the Kodiak? don't think I ever shot a '59 Grizzly. Post some pics & specs if you can.

Why so long before you can turkey hunt?

I have a 59 Grizzly 46# 60" and it is by far my favorite Bear.
I don't have the Kodiak, but the Grizzly is a point and shoot animal.
It was 1/2 stripped of the factory camo, so did a spray paint, frog skin camo job on it

(Kodiaks are just to f@#%ing pricey)

KBel would you mind expanding on how you did the frogskin thing? Is that a dip?

No dip here, Mike
Krylon grey base coat, craft store stencil for kindergarten kids, outlined in black felt pen, spray can clear over it, 3 years and still looking camo lol.
Stencil had 4 or 5 different jungle themes.
I like seeing my bow when I put it down, and I always heard critters don't see colors anyway.
