I bought a Damon Howatt hunter brand new back in the day. Beautiful thing, just never could get along with the grip for some reason.

The Martin Dreamcatcher is basically the new version of the Howatt Hunter isn't it?

I don't know my Howatts very well. Top bow pic is the Hunter, Dreamcatcher is second.

To get off topic a bit, how does that Gamemaster Jet shoot? Do they live up to their rep? I never shot one.

I have shot both the Dreamcatcher & a few Hunters & liked them both; but can't say if the former was derived from the latter, but I think I liked the Hunters best though I can't say why (been awhile).

It's not mine, Jett. It's for sale over on TG and I was just window shopping. I've been wondering how they shoot for a while now.

Isn't the Schafer one piece based on the Savage Deathmaster, which is based on the Hunter?

I think Frisky told me that once, but I'm not sure. I've bid on a few Jet's but was never willing to lay out $$$'s w/o having shot one. I think I might be able to shoot one when I'm out west next month. There's also one at the P&Y museum that I might be able to convince them to let me shoot. I'd like to try a Deathmaster too, but they're rare.

The number of models influenced by the Howatt Hunter are innumerable. Offhand, I can think of:

Dale Dye's one-piece

Savage Deathmaster

Silvertip one-piece

Rose Oak one-piece

The Howatt Hunter was/is one of the most-copied designs ever. It is a classic. :D

Howattman rules. I'm thinking about a Howattman comic book.
