Pre-AMO I believe you just stated your draw length when you placed an order. I have '56 Kodiak that is 64" & 50# @ 26".

Interesting. I've never seen that before. I don't ever remember any Bear marked at 27" for instance, so I doubt they marked them for specific draw lengths. I've only seen the marked at 26 and 28, although the Little Bear was usually marked at 24". Here's a pic from the 56 catalog and it explains the short 60" Kodiak Special and why I believe they weighed them at 26".

Here's the 59 Kodiak catalog pic with the same type of info and it says all Bear bows are marked at 28". Now I'm really confused. :P

They had standard order lengths, but I think you could special order. I think that just got too confusing & they went to the 28" standard. I have a K-Special that I believe is forty something @ 27", I'll check that out.

I stand corrected The Kodiak is a 55/56, 64", 50# @ 27" (I'll try to get some pics) and the K-Special is just marked 45#; no draw length but it scales c. 44.5 @ 26" & about 49#
@ 28".

Cool Jett. I've never seen one marked that way. Pretty interesting. 8-)

FWIW theres another 56" 1960 Kodiak on ebay right now and it's also measured at 26".
