Gene Hopkins writes "African Rosewood (bubinga)" also says 61's started with bubinga had problems, & ended up I beam construction of walnut lams & purple heart in the sight window. Another reason I stayed away from them. The early ones had the "poorly seasoned" bubinga that was prone to splitting. Interestingly, the 62's were bulit on the same press.

shortbldtr - I've never heard of anyone that wasn't satisfied with Bowdoc's work; quite the opposite!
