Let me butt in here and ask why are you re-finishing it before the overlays are replaced?

All at the same time... sort of. The riser has about ten coats now of tru oil. (it took that much to fill all the pores in the wood) I put the new tips on and the decals last night / this morning. Now everything has at least two coats of true oil. The limbs don't need as much as the riser.
