Straight backed Longbow... out of curiousity...if it is straight backed...does it matter at all if its 1 or 2 or 3 pieces??

Any other stips on the bow? Carbon legal or all glass? S glass legal? foam legal? how many can a team build if they aren't happy with the 1st???

Length? We want them from maybe 45-55 pounds??? or upto 60? Is 45 too low?

someone draw up some regs and lets get this ball rolling!

I think since Gino thought of this one, he may want to take on the rules and stipulations for this one. :)

I put together a straight backed longbow this weekend. Very happy with the shooting characteristics and performance. I only tillered it out to 26" so that is where I will chrono it when I test it. Feels like it should pass the 180 mark the way the arrows sound.Steve

sorry guys, i haven't paid much attention to this thread in the last week or so. ernie just brought it to my attention that i was to handle how this works. give me a few days and i'll come up with the rules of the game.

one thing, do we want a straight limbed bow or do we as a team want to come up with a design to further aid in our learning curve?

Just my .02, I kinda like FDs idea about a strait bow and we all just manipulate the rest of it using materials and shaping/length. plus, I love making forms so much that Id rather chop off my arms and throw them in a wood chipper! :o

Straight will be fine...and you know what...I bet we come up with numbers "dang near" as good as any "curved" form...
