WTT III - April 24Th & 25th - Travel info

Postby Kirkll » Tue Sep 30, 2008 11:14 pm

i spent some time on map quest looking at all the airports and the distance to Ken's place...Madison is farther than Milwaukee and cost more to get there, and both of them are 2.5 to 3 hours drive...that's nuts for FD to offer to drive 5-6 hours round trip to pick guys up!..the gas alone would run 50 to 60 bucks....

Appleton is still an hour away and its a hundred bucks more ....the place to fly into would definitely be Green Bay. its only 20 minutes from Ken's place...
i just can't see the guys trying to save a few bucks on airfare and have all that drive time unless 3 or 4 guys came into Milwaukee and rented a van at the airport and split the cost....even then you are talking petty cash in savings, and a lot of driving....

i think i'd rather just fly into Green bay and save the hassle and driving time, and i recommend it for the rest of the guys that are flying in too....if the guys that are fying in could post their plans for coming in Friday or Saturday and possibly get some flight numbers, it would save a lot of trips back and forth picking guys up...

i know its pretty early to start planning, but airfares are down at the moment....Kirk

and I live 5 minutes from Green Bay's airport. I can give guys a place to stay that are looking to save a few bucks too. I will be at Kens for all the festivities anyway.
