So by the looks of it the bow will be a longbow? Not a recurve? If so I will get in touch with Ken and get the dims of his riser block. I am heading down to the wood supply shop Saturday to pick up the wood. I will let everyone know what woods so they can get lams decided on.

Brock

Dick,
Great job on the case. Patches would be cool.

BK in Wisconsin wrote:Well we had the swap last summer, and most all went well. Lots of fun & a bunch of great bows made & shared. We even had bows go to & from Saudi Arabia.

Doug Wicher was supposed to build for MichBowHunter, but due to some personal problems it's become apparent he either isn't going to send one, or just send a stock bow instead. Well in true Pirate fashion, a bunch of folks have stepped up to make the first ever "Traveling Build-Along" to make sure MichBowHunter gets a Swap Bow.

Here is the batting order......

RandyM - making lams
Crooked Stic - making veneers
Brock (BullMtnArchery) - makes & glues up the riser
rwsbow, Howattman, PAarcher - all donated for the glass & riser wood
MOUNTER, Bobmeister, Longbow - all donated for the glass & riser wood
jeffhalfrack, Bill Grenoble, ben - all donated for the glass & riser wood
Kenro / FD / BK / Longbow / Marc - to glue it up.
Kenro / FD / BK / Longbow / Marc- to shape the limbs, apply overlays & cut nocks
Kenro / FD / BK / Longbow / Marc- cuts the shelf & shape the riser
VooDoo - Carve Skull & crossbones on riser
KirkLL - finish sands & sprays.
Sulphur - Making 1/2 dozen matching woodies
Dick - Making canvas recurve case

The glue-up shaping is the only thing that worries me.....we're gonna have 4 Cheeseheads together in the dead of a Wisconsin Winter with alcohol and bowsnot...... :D

Seriously...thanks for everyone volunteering to help....21 Pirates collaborating on a bow....this should be fun!

Remember to post pics along the way!! ( I heard Dick is already done with his case :) )

Brock,
:? Just wondering.... you did get the riser dimentions and picture layout I sent last week , right? At least I hope it came thru. They changed photobucket on me again so I dont know if I did it right? Let me know.
People used to say that I'd never amount to much but I can always say Ive served as a bad example!

What about me! I'll be.... in the.... cheering section.....

Seriously, though this is awesome. I need to get a few more bows under my belt, and then I'm hoping to get in on a near-future bow build/swap.

About the patches..... I'm finalizing the design "stuff" for the shirts (long story short - my new printer will be here in a day or two - then I can make my new films and see how the design will look on the shirt). I'll talk to my embroidery lady and see what she can work up for a patch.
