Awesome!!! That's going to be a looker Bobby. You have me on the edge of my seat man!

I won't start on my swap bow for a few more weeks. I have orders to catch up on. I get butterflies just thinking about my build for Ben. He wants a boo backed ipe. I have built some good ones, but have a pile of firewood to show for it. I built my best hunting buddy one about a year ago that blew up over the weekend with me standing right next to it. :? No one was hurt but me. Of course, that was an ipe splinter in the heart! That would be the first that has blown after making it through construction. That was one of the good ones! I have so much respect for those that can make these good enough to sell! I don't have the skills. I'm coming along nicely with my glass bows, but they are much easier for me.

Nothing real exciting tonight. I got the lams ground to size and the glass taped up. She goes in the oven tomorrow.

.050 glass
.099 canarywood .002 taper
.126 hickory core
.099 canarywood .002 taper
.050 glass
.424 total stack

This is a little less stack than I think I need, but on my last bow this hickory core seemed to add 6# to the draw weight so......

BK I see working hard in the bow, it encourages, I think it will do a great job. That weight stack with that expected in
can translate the extent of the stack in millimeters.

Angel - .424" equals 10.76 millimeters

There is a website that will do the math for you if you need it - http://www.metric-conversions.org/lengt ... meters.htm

Otherwise - here's the equation so you can do it yourself -- 1 millimeter equals .0394 inches. If the total stack is .424, then divide that by .0394 to get the answer 10.76 millimeters.

Sorry for the thread hijack. Back to you, BK!!!

This is why you always do a dry-run. Even if it's your 4th bow off the same form. I sanded less than 1/16" off the end of the fade, and it fixed the gap.

Seems like a waste of a picture, but the thick plastic works so so much easier. If you get the 3' wide stuff, all you have to do is roll off the width you need and slice it with a razor. In the pic you see a couple 4" pieces to cover the form.

Ready to glue. All lined up in the order they go. Note the clean, well organized workbench

Pressurized and ready for baking.
