I guess the powerlam would create a shorter working limb and the faster tapers would allow the tip to bend further back creating more of a power stroke....?

Any reason for adding a powerlam instead of a longer riser other than the visual aspect?

Power lam...yes! More taper just makes the limb bend easier towards the tips...and, lighter. ;) I've often wondered the same thing about just making the riser longer vs. a power lam.

ahh imo longer riser and powerlams work the same as long as your power lam starts thick enough. the only reason id rather use power lams than longer risers is because its harder to find a big riser block, especially with some of the exotics. and if i used a riser long enough to fill in the space where my power lams end up id need a 28" riser on my bows.

The thing I like best about ST is you can print the limb taper and unbraced bow shape full size. This lets you make the template to cut your limb taper and a template to layout your bow form. I'm very thankful to Allen for making this free for us.

Don't worry about enabling the macros since these programs are trusted not to be viruses. If you want to be on the careful side, set your security to medium where it will ask your permission when you open a program. Jim
