I've been so excited to get this bow and it turned out fantastic. I told Jim I always wanted a Osage bow and it looks great with the brown glass and accents. Thanks my man, you did a great job. Mike

I noticed when you were glueing up your riser you used smooth on with no heat. How strong is that.

Strong enough, I hope! I'm not convinced yet that baking risers at 180 degrees for four hours is a good thing. I've had them warp and crack after baking. The best thing is probably to glue up all riser pieces, then post cure them in the oven at reduced heat...like 140 degrees? I wondered how long it would take for somebody to cry foul on this. Jim

WOW Jim! Your bows keep getting better and better! Thanks for telling about this site. I've really enjoyed. The "other" site seems different now..???

You've got me wanting to build a takedown recurve now...hehe

I've been missing the bow building...haven't built one in almost 2 years. I'm finishing up a tri-lam stave now.

Steve, good to see you over here. That's for sure, the other sites just don't match up to POA! Lot's of really talented builders here. Jim

I'm new to this site and really like what I see. I really appreciate you takin the time to teach us new guys about bow building. The build alongs are awesome! I have tons of osage on my farm, was wondering what other native woods would look good with osage? Also if ERC would work in a 3 PC. riser? Maybe with hickory . Beautiful Bow!

I'm glad you like the build alongs. Osage has great contrast with walnut, bocote, cocobolo, bolivian rosewood, etc. for risers. Avoid the ERC...the guys on here say it is soft and will shear if you use it in cores. Jim
