Blade dedicated to cutting fiberglass. I don't cut any glass on the bandsaw.
Actually I don't do very much on the bandsaw....guess I'm a tablesaw guy :)
Image

Just go slow & steady and it's not a big deal. You do not have to cut on the line,
just close enough to save yourself time on the sander.

I still need 2 more tools....a drum sander and a big-boy edge sander.....someday

Until then I use the edge sander Ibex sent me a while back.....I get the feeling
this sander has seen a LOT of bows....

You'll notice that I sand down to the OUTSIDE edge of my line. That's because I'm a wuss.
See, I'm leaving myself an out....a safety valve. Once I get a string on it I'll check for twist
and have 1/16" on each side to adjust if need be. If it lines up good, then I'll just grind
down to the inside of the lines.....or leave it, depending on weight.

Marking for ILF hardware.
The black left line will be the limb butt.
The left silver dot is the center of the limb bolt slot.
Right pencil line is the rocker & silver dot is the center of the bushing.
Image

It was getting kind of late so I decided to leave it until tomorrow and remeasure everything
before drilling. I really don't want to make a stupid mistake here.

After remeasuring everything every which way but Friday, I drilled. Okay, I drilled 2 small pilot holes then hung a string on it again to make sure they were still lined up. We're good on both limbs.
Image

Next was to take it to the drill press and make damn sure the limb was square to the bit. I used the cutoffs from when I made the wedges to keep the limb from rocking. Drill 3/8" holes.

Install bushings.

I wanted to see how everything was working so I slipped a Donkey Insert onto the bushing. feels about right.
Image

Checking to see if the bolt hole lines up with the insert......sweet :)

I trimmed the butt down to the line I had previously marked, then went to the bandsaw and nicked out the little piece left behind the bolt hole.
Image

need to smooth that out to 3/8" channel. I was warned not to have any slop in this hole so I used a file and checked the size frequently.
Image

When the 3/8" drill bit slid in easily and just stayed there I called it good. A slight tap would knock the bit to the floor.
Image

Nearly finished. Tomorrow I'll profile them down to 1 1/8" ILF width.
