12 FEET

Postby Yohon » Tue Nov 14, 2017 7:36 pm

Hunting an are near my house that is just a tiny little patch of woods but I set a camera in there and had as many as 7 at one time in there. I figured on killin a few does as the pressure and cold weather moves em into the neighborhood. I hunted the other night and saw several does but no shots, a fresh scrape was opened up 4 yards from the base of the tree. I had a pile of squirrels in the area and after sitting there a few minutes I changed out my Grizzly Instincts for a Snuffer to try and shoot a squirrel. As I was waiting for one to get right I looked back and saw a big doe step out of the thicket. Seemed awful early for that, she fed for a minute or two and looked back....out steps a buck of a size that I never thought would be in here!!! He proceeds to turn and walk straight to me and comes right into that scrape......12 feet from the base of the tree!!! He sticks his head in the overhanging and quarters away. How cool is that!! Ease back to full draw and pull thru and the arrow buries to the crest!! I actually shot him right in the heart....you can imagine he didnt go far!!

Awesome dude!!
You can tell a lot about a woman's mood just by her hands. If they are holding a gun, she's probably angry.

GREAT! Nice to have an assist. :D

Did I ever tell you about the time I missed one at 4 yards? Not going to either.

So this guy ruined your squirrel hunt ? , I hate when that happens. I woulda shot him over that too ;)
When you take your kid hunting and he says thank you and tells you how much he loves being in the woods with you, your day just isn't going to get any better than that.
